This year marks the 50th Anniversary of Chateau Montelena’s victory at the Judgment of Paris in 1976, a blind tasting that challenged centuries of convention and permanently altered the course of fine wine history. In celebration of this golden anniversary, we’re excited to announce a member-exclusive, limited-edition release, the 2023 Blanc de Blanc, our first sparkling wine from Montelena.

This limited release is crafted from Chardonnay of the John Muir Hanna Vineyard in Napa Valley, one of the three original growing sites that composed the triumphant 1973 vintage. Fruit from John Muir Hanna has been exclusive to our winery since 1972, a family partnership that continues today. In honoring this historic milestone, we look ahead with the same pioneering spirit, crafting wines that will inspire the next 50 years at Chateau Montelena.
