2022 Sonoma County Chardonnay

Chardonnay has been at the heart of Montelena’s story since the beginning, shaped by the character of both Napa and Sonoma. Our inaugural 1972 vintage and the iconic 1973 Chardonnay that triumphed at the Judgment of Paris were both crafted from a blend of Napa and Sonoma fruit. Additionally, in our early years, Montelena produced two distinct Chardonnays, one from Napa Valley, the other from Sonoma, each a reflection of the unique sense of place from both valleys. Decades later, we’re proud to honor this legacy by re-launching a Montelena classic, our Sonoma Chardonnay.

This limited-release Chardonnay marks a departure from our signature Napa Valley Chardonnay. Sourced from Sonoma County, it offers a dynamic expression of Sonoma’s diverse terroir. Intoxicatingly rich, this wine integrates everything we’ve learned over the last half century, while expressing this unique site through the lens of the 2022 vintage
