Frequently Asked Questions

  • Rather than reserving an experience, may I just purchase a bottle of wine or wine by the glass to enjoy onsite?

Our wines are only featured as part of a full experience. We do not offer glass or bottle options for consumption onsite.

  • Is payment required at time of booking? Is there an option to waive participation fees?

We do require full payment at time of booking for all visits. Participation fees are refundable in most standard experiences with a qualifying purchase and/or membership enrollment. These requirements vary by experience and do not apply to curated or large group experiences.

  • Do you accommodate large groups?

Yes, we are pleased to host large groups of all sizes for a private tour and tasting experience, with advance reservation. Groups larger than eight guests can submit their visit request by clicking here.

  • Does my reservation include the option to walk/view the grounds?

Yes. Guests with reservations are welcome to explore the grounds and take photos for personal use either before or after their experience. For the safety of our guests and grapes, we do not allow anyone to walk through the vineyard. To dive deeper into this area, consider reserving our Vineyard Tour & Tasting or one of our private, curated experiences.

  • Do you have any food or dining options available onsite?

We do not offer any food options onsite and ask visitors to refrain from bringing any food to their experience. We encourage guests to support our local restaurants. The city of Calistoga is just five minutes south of us and has a variety of options for both formal and informal dining.

  • I have an infant/children, or other individuals under the age of 21, in my party. Are they able to join me in the experience?

As an alcohol service venue, we are unable to accommodate anyone under the age of 21 inside the Chateau or as part of any experience.

  • I have someone in my party that wishes not to consume wine. Do I still need to reserve them a spot in my reservation?

Yes, for all reservations, each guest in your party will need to have a prepaid space secured if they wish to join your group for the experience. However, we welcome non-participants without any fee to accompany their party at our daily walk-in bar, featuring a flight of five wines, available from 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. on a first come, first served basis. For those not enjoying wines, we do offer a limited selection of still water, sparkling water, and sparkling juice.

  • Do you offer shared tastings?

While we do not offer shared tastings in any of our reserved experiences, you are welcome to share a tasting at our walk-in bar. The walk-in bar features a flight of five wines and is offered daily from 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. on a first come, first served basis.

  • Can we picnic onsite?

Picnicking onsite is an exclusive benefit of our membership program, with advance reservation. Access varies by membership level. Members can inquire on picnic area availability by contacting us at 1.800.222.7288 or [email protected].

  • Do you offer ADA parking or EV Charging onsite?

Yes, we offer ADA parking and EV charging at our upper parking lot. Upon arrival and entering the main gate, please take an immediate left to access this area. These spaces are limited — if unavailable, you may still drop off any guests with disabilities and then park in our main lot on the lower level by Jade Lake.

  • Do you host weddings?

We are unable to host social events such as weddings, receptions or ceremonies. We are able to host educational, wine themed experiences for parties of all sizes. View our brochure of offerings and start the conversation by clicking here.

  • May I bring my pet onsite?

We are unable to welcome pets/animals on property except for service dogs. As defined by the ADA, a ‘service animal’ refers to any animal trained to do work or perform a task for the benefit of an individual with a disability. Pets providing emotional support, well-being, comfort, or companionship are not recognized as service animals under ADA regulations and therefore cannot be accommodated on our property.

  • Do you have a dress code?

We suggest wine country casual for all attire, but also advise considering the forecasted weather during your visit.

  • Are ride share apps reliable in your area?

Common rideshare apps such as Lyft and Uber do operate in our area, but are not always reliable. While you are welcome to plan on using these services, we’d suggest also having a back-up plan in place. Additional transportation resources, including the Calistoga Shuttle, can be found on the city’s Visit Calistoga website.
