2007 Montelena Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2007 Montelena Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is finally here!  We released the wine on March 1st and sent it to many club members this past week.  And although the 2007 Estate Cabernet will only get better with time, I know at least a few of you out there couldn’t wait to crack a bottle open.  If you did, please let us know what you think.

How is the 2007 Estate Cabernet?

  1. A very, very kind friend gave me a bottle of the ’07 last week as ‘graduation’ present for passing my CSW Exam. How’s that for positive reinforcement? I think I’ll take more tests in the future. Anyway, no tasting notes to report. That bottle is in the cellar along side the 01-06 vintages as I build my ‘vertical’.

  2. I will be trying it tonight at a local wine tasting at the Martin Wine Cellar in Baton Rouge. Will report back once I do!

  3. Really enjoyed the tasting Jeff Adams put on in Baton Rouge. My favorite was the 2000 Estate Cabernet, but I liked the 2007 enough to buy a bottle. The consensus at the tasting was that it will age well. I plan to hold my bottle for at least 10 years in the hope that it will be as good as the 2000 is today.
