Vineyard Strolls & Thanksgiving Preparations

The Fall has been extended and mild this year, temperatures hanging in around the sixties and seventies for most of the last two months.  I have been doing a lot of walking in the vineyard and enjoying the wild life.  There is a pair of great egrets that have been spending a lot of time […]

Chateau Montelena And Jeremy Irons In “Trashed”

You may remember Jeff’s blog post from last spring about English actor Jeremy Irons’ visit to the winery.  Last April, he and a film crew descended upon our winery to film a segment with our Vineyard Manager, Dave Vella, for an upcoming documentary about America’s problem with excessive waste.  Well, friends, the wait is finally over. A Seahorse Smoking a Cigar?

Our vineyard crew is busy pruning the vines, so I visited with Bo in the Estate Vineyard to witness some of the trimming process, an annual task that takes weeks to complete. Strolling Through the Vineyards

One of the best things about summer is enjoying the sunshine and outdoors.  This is especially true when you work at a beautiful winery in gorgeous Calistoga.  The extreme heat has spared us so far this August, so I’ve been loving taking time to get outside for a lunchtime walk in the vineyard.  I take […]
